ABSTRACT
Reproductive issues affect all of us throughout our lives. They also feature prominently in the patterns and norms of our society. Imagine a daily newspaper in which all references to sex, birth or parenting were removed. Psychological issues relating to sexuality, pregnancy and birth are of intrinsic interest to all of us, but they also have special relevance to health professionals (Alder, 1998).
