ABSTRACT
Teacher and pupils need to establish ground rules for the classroom discussion. They should be few and simple:
Everyone has equal opportunity to speak. Raise hands to take turns talking while others listen attentively.
Everyone has a right to speak without being interrupted and without fear of negative consequences.
Everyone must use mutual respect and not give comments which hurt others.
Stick to the subject.
