ABSTRACT

Throughout his writings, Adler defined the style of life in many ways since it was a very broad concept. In his earlier writings, the emphasis was on the goal and the ways in which we go about achieving it. This involved the confluence of drives. The style of life is not just one single concept such as strivings for superiority but involves many aspects of the human personality. Listed below are a few aspects of human behavior which contribute to or are in some way involved in the style of life:

individuality and individual forms of creativity,

ways in which we solve life's problems,

our own attitudes towards life,

ways in which we compensate for inferiorities,

what life means to us,

our entire unitary personality,

our goals and means of achieving them,

opinions we have of ourselves and others,

ways in which we fulfill our strivings for superiority and social interest, and

expressions of our entire personality.
