ABSTRACT

We think about death even when we do not speak of it. We tend to see ourselves in a perpetual state of permanence. It is somehow easier for us to see ourselves as exempt from death and easier yet to see others as being susceptible to dying. This paradox would be perhaps more plausible if this death-denying statement guaranteed that since you are going to die and "I am immortal," I shall be there to help you when you are experiencing your terminal illness. But in reality, is this what really happens?
