ABSTRACT
Each chapter in this book focuses on a different phase of the group processes through which people pursue their goals. The task of this chapter is to consider if the events that occur within a group lead to different levels of personal satisfaction, group cohesiveness, and task productivity. This discussion considers how much our theoretical perspective contributes to clarifying the complex interactional processes through which personality, situation, task, and group-structure variables determine the level of group performance.
