ABSTRACT
Students in Burt Thompson’s statistics class at Niagara University used the Student Information Questionnaire (SIQ) to produce a realistic data set for testing a variety of student-generated hypotheses. The instructor provided a skeleton form of the SIQ, and students customized the form to their interests. Evaluations of the technique suggested that students found such data more interesting than artificial data and more helpful for learning statistics.
