ABSTRACT
James Korn from Saint Louis University discussed the research situation from the perspective of student participants. Participants may assume different roles, varying in the nature of their compliance, as good, faithful, apprehensive, or bad subjects. Rights and responsibilities of research participants are described, and the role of assertive subjects is suggested. The author recommends a collaborative model to increase educational benefits of research participation.
