ABSTRACT
Part Four, on descriptive designs, addressed methods of properly identifying developmental change. Occasionally, it became evident that complex descriptive designs (especially if enriched by control groups) may also provide explanatory information. As we stated before, the distinction between descriptive and explanatory research is less logical than didactic and heuristic.
