ABSTRACT

Some of these complex arguments are multiple arguments to the same conclusion, some are chain arguments, and some are combinations of the two. FIRST, construct a logical diagram showing how all the parts are related, writing out the premises and conclusions in English and drawing arrows to show where a statement that has appeared as a conclusion of a subargument is subsequently used as a premise either in another subargument or in the main argument. Be sure to include every reason that is given for another statement somewhere on your chart. SECOND, supply all missing premises required to make each argument valid, placing these added premises in parentheses.
