ABSTRACT
The Architect's authority comes from his terms of engagement with his Client. However, irrespective of the Architect's actual authority, the Contractor is entitled to assume it is the same as that set out in the building contract; 1 if it is not, the Employer will be in breach of his obligation to maintain a duty-holder to fulfil the duties of the Architect. 2
