ABSTRACT

Oxyacetylene welding gets its name from two gases commonly used in the process, oxygen and acetylene. In Tungsten arc gas shielded welding, both filler rod and torch angles have to be considered when using oxyacetylene welding process. A neutral flame is required for oxyacetylene cutting; this can be achieved by opening the acetylene control valve on the torch and lighting with a spark lighter. In the interests of safety it is strongly advised not to tamper with equipment used for oxyacetylene cutting or welding. Never attempt to repair the equipment yourself. Following a few simple guidelines will ensure long life and safe operation of hoses. The flashback arrestor is a safety device, highly sensitive to temperature and pressure, fitted to outlet side of oxygen and acetylene regulator. The pressure regulator used with oxyacetylene process is a precise measuring instrument and should be treated and handled with care. This completes the assembly of the equipment.
