ABSTRACT
One o f the most studied and ubiquitous findings in human memory research has been the serial position effect. Serial position e ffects refer to the finding that when subjects are given a list o f items to remember, they recall the initial (primacy effect) and terminal (recency effect) items o f the list with higher accuracy than the medial items.
