When a Loss is Due to Suicide: Unique Aspects of Bereavement

Those persons who are bereaved from suicide share a common core of experiences with those who are bereaved from other causes (Range & Calhoun, 1990), as well as experiences that are more intense or unique to suicide (Silverman, Range, & Overholser, in press). This review will discuss research findings on these unique aspects of suicidal bereavement and make research and clinical suggestions.
