ABSTRACT
At first there is unintegration, there is no bond between body and psyche, and no place for a not-ME reality. Theoretically this is the original state, unpatterned and unplanned. In practice this is not true, for the infant is being cared for, that is to say loved, which means physically loved. Adaptation to need is almost complete.
