ABSTRACT
In 1959, Jackson formed the M e n t a l Research Institute (MRI) and brought Virg in ia Satir aboard. T h e y were j o i n e d by H a l e y i n 1962. Subsequent to Jackson's death i n 1968, several others have served as director of M R I , i n c l u d i n g John E l d - e r k i n B e l l , Jules R i s k i n , Nicholas C u m m i n g s and the present director, Carlos S l u z k i . T h e M R I strategic therapy work has p r i m a r i l y been carr ied on by W e a k l a n d , P a u l Watz lawick , R i c h - ard F i s c h , A r t h u r B o d i n , and S l u z k i .
