The hard handed yeomanry, the gentleman farmers, the mechanic and the merchant, who are the bone and muscle of our glorious cause, find it necessary to take the matter into their own hands, being wearied by the tardy and timid movements of the doctor, the lawyer, the judge, the elder, etc., who ought emphatically to lead the way, but who from motives of “expediency” and certain great interests of the country, easily discoverable by a shrewd, guessing Yankee, remain fast bound by the strong withes of their political party.
