ABSTRACT
This book is the second volume of a two-volume set. The first volume provided a general introduction to the use of computational tools for studying language learning. It also gave specific instructions for transcribing and analyzing language acquisition data using the framework of the Child Language Data Exchange System ( C H I L D E S ) system. Transcription was done using the C L A N transcription system and analysis was done using the C L A N programs. C H A T and C L A N are two of the three components of the C H I L D E S system.
