There are no established “laws” instantiating judgment principles that repeatedly surface in the course of laboratory study. Indeed, there has been very little theoretical work of any kind to identify invariances that transcend psychophysical methods and stimulus attributes. Because the necessary foundation is unsteady, the ensuing proposals of links across methods and attributes must be treated as prospective.
