ABSTRACT

Cases presenting with cessation or restriction of visual imagery were identified by question 8 of the interview schedule described in chapter 9. Only 186 patients provided a definite answer to this question. (Questions concerning dream-imagery did not arise for the 112 patients who reported global cessation of dreaming, and 34 patients gave equivocal responses.) The fact that only two patients in the effective sample of 186 reported a cessation or restriction of visual dream-imagery suggests that the incidence of this disorder in the neurological population is very low (1.1%) 1 None of the 29 control subjects reported this disorder.
