ABSTRACT

We were pleased with the opportunity to read and react to the chapters in this volume concerning career assessment and intervention with racial and ethnic minorities, namely, Bowman's “Career Intervention Strategies for African Americans,” Fouad's “Career Behavior of Hispanics: Assessment and Career Intervention,” Leong and Gim's “Career Assessment and Intervention for Asian Americans,” and Martin's “Career Development Assessment and Intervention Strategies with Native Americans.” In this chapter we begin by reviewing five major conclusions that can be gleaned from these chapters. Second, based on these major conclusions we present our views regarding needed steps in assessment, intervention, and research.
