ABSTRACT
Having discussed the general structure of the two main information storage units we postulate, we are now in a position to state more formally the rules that govern the search and retrieval of information from these units. As usual, we do this in terms of a series of postulates (for a complete summary, see Appendix). Once the postulates are presented, we discuss some of their implications and provide some empirical examples of their applicability.
