ABSTRACT

Family therapists work with a range of family configurations and types of clients. One of the most delightful types of client is the teenager. As we all know, teenagers are predisposed to being cooperative, verbal, realistic creatures that obey their parents and relish attending sessions. However, once in a blue moon a family therapist will meet an obstinate, rebellious adolescent, the type of youth that thinks s/he knows it all and if only the family would do what the teenager requests, then all would be right with the world.
