ABSTRACT

Inhibited sexual desire (ISD) is a complex and common sexual problem couples present with in treatment (Kaplan, 1979; Weeks, 1987; Knopf and Seiler, 1990; Brooks, 1994). For many years we have known that only a few couples respond to behaviorally oriented sex therapy (Kaplan, 1979). Tlie literature supports the use of a combination of intrapsychic, intergen-erational, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to treatment (Knopf and Seiler, 1990; Leiblum and Rosen, 1988; Lazarus, 1988).
