ABSTRACT

Recent advances in medical technology have increased the survival rates for children diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. For those who successfully complete maintenance therapy without relapse, the prognosis is good, with approximately 80 percent of patients remaining free of the disease. This has led to increased efforts aimed at understanding individual adjustment to this disease, as well as discovering interventions that facilitate adjustment in families with a member who has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia.
