Demographic changes in Corona have been dramatic during the last fifty years. While in 1950 the population census did not count any Latin American people in Corona, in 1960, the census counted 1,007 Puerto Ricans in the area. Beginning in 1970, the population census started to count people of Spanish-speaking origins or "Hispanics" under the same label. The Latin American population grew from 15,515 in 1970 to 40,821 in 1990. These Latin Americans comprise people from every single country in Central and South America, as well as the Spanish-speaking Caribbean.
