ABSTRACT
Pupil behaviour in schools is frequently presented as a concern, even though the consistent message is that the great majority of children and young people enjoy learning, work hard and behave well (Ofsted 2005a). Behaviour in schools has been the subject of government policy and numerous reports and guidance documents.
