ABSTRACT

A good account of this process is to be found in the research of Daniel Levinson, who suggests that each man moves through alternating periods of transition and relative stability. Male—male friendship is often a difficult area for men, and something needs to be said about it. Men often feel that they do have the time to cultivate friends. The workplace is a setting for much Male—male interaction, and a good deal of it is quite competitive, but heterosexism brings with it some difficult extra problems — problems where the therapist can be of real help. The structure of the organisation shifts in order to enable all these changes to take place, and to give them full scope.
