ABSTRACT
The last chapter provided a general overview of the Common Core Standards for English and Language Arts. While the demands of the new standards hold great promise for students, to maximize the benefits for students, teachers must translate all the criteria to actual day-to-day instruction in the classroom. In essence, the goal of this chapter is to help you garner practical strategies and guidelines for using the instructional frameworks that follow in Chapters 4 through 9.
