ABSTRACT

The previous chapter identified the many ways in which the framework developed in this book presents comparative advantages over the approaches of current convention that pervade practice and therefore demonstrated how it promises to strengthen M&E. The purpose of this chapter is to highlight a number of potential weaknesses with the framework in relation to what the case of Liberia reveals, but also what its particular operating environment, mission phase at the time of the field research, and specific mandate may conceal vis-à-vis the settings and possible mandates of UNPOL in other UN peace operations.
