ABSTRACT
Problem solving is the ability to gather factual information, determine the root cause of the problem, create a set of alternative solutions, and then execute the best solution. Problem-solving skills are classified into the following categories: analogy, visualization, ordering, simplification, and framing. Analogy is a problem-solving skill based on using existing solutions to solve new problems. Visualization is a problem-solving skill that enables one to powerfully combine their minds, vision, and physical actions. Options and ordering are problem-solving skills that enable one to focus on alternatives and priorities, and thus sort through various options. Simplification is a problem-solving skill, where the simplified money transfer service uses text messages and a network of agents to deposit and withdraw money from an account that is stored on the customer's cell phone. Framing in the social sciences is a problem-solving skill, which refers to a set of concepts and theoretical perspectives on how individuals, groups, and societies organize, perceive, and communicate about reality.
