ABSTRACT

In China, the marine insurance legislation is included in the Maritime Code of the PRC 1992 (hereinafter, the CMC).1 Chapter XII of the CMC is concerned with marine insurance contracts. It consists of 41 articles (arts 216-56) in six sections: General Provisions; Conclusion; Termination and Assignment of Contract; Obligations of the Insured; Liability of the Insurer; Loss of and Damage to the Subject Matter Insured and Abandonment; and Payment of Indemnity.
