ABSTRACT
This chapter examines India's strategic role in the northwest Indian Ocean, focusing on its security relationships in and around the Persian Gulf. These relationships form part of a larger story of India's strategic relations in West Asia and the Arab world that goes well beyond its role in the Indian Ocean.
