ABSTRACT

Workplace bullying has not received academic attention in the Indian context and the various empirical inquiries presented in this book represent a pioneering effort. Set in India’s ITES-BPO sector, these studies evidence the presence of workplace bullying, explore organizational measures to deal with the problem and describe target and witness/bystander experiences of the phenomenon. Apart from this interpersonal focus, the emergent issue of depersonalized bullying is also discussed. The inclusion of micro-organizational, macro-organizational, business, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions enhances the insights.
