ABSTRACT
Verbals are grammatical concepts that are formed using verbs but do not function as verbs in sentences. Instead, they function as different parts of speech, such as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs. As Common Core Standard 8.1 indicates, there are three kinds of verbals: gerunds, participles, and infinitives. Let us look at each of them in detail.
