ABSTRACT
The key characteristics of formative assessment are that it is ongoing, dynamic and progressive (Bell and Cowie, 2001). It also has to be responsive – something has to happen as a result of it. The following teacher’s comment highlights the progressive and responsive nature of formative assessment.
