This part provides ‘Subject knowledge’ and ‘Ideas for practice’ for the following themes:
‘Subject knowledge’ sections begin with a brief historical context to introduce some of the key scientists who contributed to the development of the knowledge presented in the
chapter. We would encourage you to find out more about the lives and work of these great scientists. Within each theme are ‘Something to think about’ scenarios for reflection and personal learning. These are designed to make you think creatively about key ideas in a different context or to encourage you to extend and develop your understanding.
