ABSTRACT
However, it is now known that both the neutron and the proton are in fact made of even smaller particles, known as quarks. Today, scientists continue to seek the most fundamental particles from which materials are constructed. The Large Hadron Collider at CERN (The European Organisation for Nuclear Research) in Geneva has been designed to answer questions about the nature of quarks and to explore in greater depth their composition and formation.
