ABSTRACT

Session 2 is comprised of three modules (3, 4 and 5). We start by identifying the young person’s problems and the specific goals they want to achieve in therapy. After this, we introduce the CBT model and describe how it can be used to help them achieve their identified goals. Finally, in this session, the first key aspect of CBT – ‘feelings’ – is introduced. (As was explained in the Introduction, the terms ‘feelings’ and ‘emotions’ are used interchangeably throughout the book to mean the same thing – technically, emotions.)
