ABSTRACT

In this chapter outlines the particular practices that Carol undertakes in the pursuit of her telos of social justice. It argues that a significant part of Carol's work involves advocacy for her students and the different ways in which she undertakes practices of counter-conduct. The chapter is divided largely into the thematic work that constitutes Carol's forms of elaboration: advocacy, truth-telling and counter-conduct. It identifies a range of forms of elaboration and modes of subjection for Carol as she engages with her telos of social justice. The spaces within different discourses allow Carol to exercise a form of counter-conduct and work in the form of intervention and advocacy for her students, thus she is constituted as a political subject. A subject position that is rare among the more typical and popular approaches to educational leadership. The chapter have identified a range of forms of elaboration and modes of subjection for Carol as she engages with her telos of social justice.
