ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we first provide a short discussion about the origins of unwritten rules to shed some light on why so many exist in China today. We then provide some examples of unwritten rules in the public sector, private sector, and personal life. We conclude with a very optimistic view on how these rules might change in the near future.
