No aspect of our mental life is more important to the quality and meaning of our existence than emotions. They are what make life worth living, or sometimes ending.

This chapter explores some elements of the emotional experiences of people with learning disabilities throughout the human life span. Insights are drawn from parts of the lives of people with learning disabilities including David, Leon, Ahmed, Claire, Kevin, Connor and Arthur. These insights will be employed to assist the readers to think about how they may support people with learning disabilities to benefi t from life-affi rming emotional experiences and some ways of evaluating outcomes.
