ABSTRACT
This chapter will enable an understanding of the nursing support required for a young person following a road traffic accident
James is 14 years old and has been admitted to the children’s ward following an accident on his bicycle. He had to brake abruptly as a car stopped in front of him and he went over the top of his handlebars. The fall has left him with a head injury, a deep cut to his left arm (1” long) and a left fractured tibia and fibula.
