ABSTRACT

The main purpose of human food consumption is to provide the quantity and quality of nutrition required to enable effective physical and mental work. There are three main types of diet in the world: the first one is based on animal products and is common to such countries as the United States, Canada, Australia and the Soviet Union. The second is based on a mixture of animal and plant products, and is prevalent in Japan. The third diet is largely plant-based and is eaten in China and India. The Pennsylvania Conference particularly praised the Soviet way of solving the housing problem: in the Soviet Union, people have single occupancy of a house with a garden; most live in blocks of flats of four or five storey's and without lifts. In short, urban systems under the new development model will be reconstructed. China's tertiary industry lags far behind its primary and second industries, but it also has the greatest development potential.
