ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the lesson chose to share with parents or the school. A plan for being more transparent. Some schools have literally torn down their walls, and have buildings with windows and wide-open spaces. When people pass these schools, they see the learning taking place and the interaction among students and school staff. Teachers are finding ways to invite the outside world into their classrooms by publishing work online, livestreaming lessons, sharing on social media, and keeping parents updated through a wiki or other online tool. With various free Internet tools can make our classrooms transparent. One can begin to share with parents and others what are excited about in our classrooms. Students use free web tools to create digital stories. Many of these tools allow students to use avatars and characters. Parents can be assured their child's identity is protected. Many web tools have privacy options that enable you to share the student's work with the community.
