Memes are ideas, behavior, or language spread throughout a culture. Memes are shared through viral images and videos. Grumpy Cat and "Like a boss" are examples of memes. Students use memes in their various social networks and blogs. Teachers can use meme images and phrases to provide instructions, delineate expectations, motivate students to follow rules and procedures, and introduce a difficult topic. The visuals, dialogue, scenes, frames, animated text, and sequencing help the brain process the literature. Many comic books integrate science in their narratives. Many free web tools and mobile apps allow students to create comics.
