ABSTRACT
A bad taste remains in the mouths of many educators from the frustrating, impossible mandates of No Child Left Behind. Now Washington is sending something else our way—the Common Core. The ever-moving pendulum, swinging faster than ever, moves toward yet another mark as most states prepare to implement the Common Core State Standards. Questions abound in every school district across the United States from teachers who work tirelessly trying to engage students, preparing them to enter the world. Educators must imagine careers to fulfill a future need unlike anything we currently know—a truly daunting task.
