A staple in most English classrooms, Romeo and Juliet is a classic with themes of love, loss, and tragedy. Adding a focus on real-life romance and heartbreaking pairings brings in the nonfiction aspect of the Core while helping students appreciate the timelessness of love and its possible shortcomings.
