ABSTRACT
Improving communications should be high on the agenda of any quality improvement programme. Good communications are essential to:
provide the information staff require to support decision-making in a delegated environment;
support the development of a corporate culture and minimize the differences of view between management and staff;
ensure the ideas and perspectives of staff are drawn into the development and direction of the institution;
provide opportunities for the vision aims and objectives of the institution to be shared.
