ABSTRACT

A Frequency Dictionary of Japanese provides a list of core vocabulary for learners of Japanese as a second or foreign language. Like other volumes in the Routledge Frequency Dictionary series, it gives the most up-to-date, reliable frequency guidelines for common vocabulary in spoken and written Japanese, which helps learners of Japanese set practical goals for acquiring both productive and receptive knowledge of vocabulary. For teachers, it provides a valuable pedagogical tool with which to organize their teaching syllabus, prepare teaching materials, and assess their learners’ vocabulary level and size.
