ABSTRACT
The purpose of this book is twofold. First, it is to examine the contribution of applying to Third World countries a particular planning approach (the UTP process) and its derivatives to urban transport infrastructure and facility provision. Secondly, to respond to the identified weaknesses and strengths of this approach and help arrive at conceptually more appropriate transport policy and planning guidelines for cities in such countries.
